City of Hope, a Los Angeles cancer research hospital and treatment facility, has announced an upcoming celebrity poker tournament that will raise money for its foundation, funds from which help treat cancer sufferers.
The “All In For Hope” Celebrity Poker Tournament kicks off on May 31st and will be hosted by City of Hope at the Creative Artists Agency in L.A. City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, so the tournament is set to raise money for a truly great cause, close to the hearts of many.
With a buy-in of $500 and unlimited rebuys set at $250 during the first hour of the game, the “All In For Hope’ Celebrity Poker Tournament should raise a large amount to go towards funding the cancer patients and their medical needs.
Final Table Will be Watched
Every player who reaches the final table of the event, aside from the first place winner and runner-up, will receive the gift of time in the form of a watch donated by TW Steel, and the tournament will also feature auctions for prizes, such as tickets to a meet-and-greet with comedian Ray Romano, as well as San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, trips to Cabo, and other great prizes, with all proceeds going towards the cause.
The grand prize at this celeb event is a guaranteed seat at the 2013 World Series of Poker’s Main Event in Las Vegas, as well as luxury accommodations, so the tournament is sure to have the players putting on their most serious poker faces and getting down to business to win their way to Vegas; 2006 World Series of poker Main Event winner Jamie Gold is already confirmed on the guest list.
The 2013 Spirit of Life Award honoree, Rob Light, will be hosting the event, which will also be attended by actors Tony Danza and Joe Mangariella, and actresses Mimi Rogers (most famous for being Tom Cruise’s first ex-wife) and Camryn Manheim.
